Away from the traffic of Via dei Fori Imperiali, the ancient road in the historical city center along which Rome's Hotel Fori Imperiali Cavalieri 3 stars is located is just a few minutes' walk from the Colosseum and from the subway station that connects to the Termini train station, the hub of all the shuttle bus services to the international airports.
Less than 600 meters (1969 feet) away from the hotel, going past the city's most important archeological area -the Roman Forum- on the left, you will reach Piazza Venezia, a square presided by the spectacular white marble Altar of the Homeland, one of Rome's landmarks and a symbol of national unity.
Also in the vicinity of the hotel, the Arch of Titus marks the way to Colle del Palatino, the legendary area where Rome is said to have been founded by Romulus; today, this area is an open-air museum lined by what remains of Rome's imperial palaces.
Rome is a charming city and an incessant venue for culture, history and monuments. Once considered the center of the world, the city still captures today's visitors with places like the Spanish Steps, the famous Trevi Fountain, the Baroque palaces of Piazza Navona and the Borghese Gallery, displaying works by Raphael, Botticelli and Canova.
While Via dei Condotti is the city'sundisputed boutique shopping venue that showcases the latest fashion trends, visitors to Via Veneto will experience the nostalgic atmosphere of La Dolce Vita. Meanwhile, aficionados of Antiques and paintings should not pass up a stroll along Via Margutta.
Rome continues to surprise visitors as they embark on an unforgettable voyage to the heart of western civilization: from the Antico Caffè Greco to the city's festive White Nights, from Trastevere's chic restaurants to the Vatican Museums and the splendid Sistine Chapel.
Recognized worldwide as one of the most famous symbols of Rome, the Colosseum is located only 300 meters (984 feet) away from our hotel. Extensive as the power of the Roman Empire, the arena of gladiators is one of the must-see sites during a visit to Rome. Still today, this amphitheatre transmits very intensive evocative feelings. Just like the entire historical city center of Rome, the Colosseum was selected as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
The Church of San Pietro in Vincoli has ancient origins, dating back to the end of the 5th century. Today, behind its famous 15th-century profile, the church holds Michelangelo's statue of Moses, a masterpiece of expression and beauty worth admiring, the shackles of Saint Peter placed below the basilica's major altar, and a magnificent Doric colonnade.
In ancient Rome, Rione Monty was a highly populated common district, known for its many disreputable inns. Today, it rivals Trastevere for the city's palm award for most charming and picturesque district, featuring craftsman shops and tiny shops scattered along narrow streets, enveloped by a small-town feel, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet full of tourist attractions; a place where neighbors still know one another and gather to visit at the gracious Piazzetta della Madonna dei Monti.
